To Begin

  1. On the power stack (far left in the tech booth) use a key (usually small, round, copper) to turn the power on.
  2. Use the light switch beside the power stack to turn on the cooling fan.
  3. Take the cover off the sound board and turn it on. The power switch is located on the back at the right edge.

Using a mic:

  1. Choose which mic you want to use, either the headset or handheld and take it from the mic case on the tech booth counter.
  2. Get two AA batteries for the mic and test them to make sure they have enough power for the amount of use you are intending. Batteries and a tester are in the top drawer of the under counter drawer tower.
  3. Insert batteries in the mic ensuring you have the polarity correct.
  4. Slide the "HH", "HS", and master volume sliders all the way up and back down.
  5. Press the mute button on the appropriate channel ("HH" is for the handheld mic, "HS" is for the headset mic) until the mute button is NOT lit up.
  6. Bring the master slider up to the 0 mark.
  7. Bring the slider for your mic channel up to about the -10 mark. Speak into the mic to see if it's loud enough and adjust the slider as necessary.
  8. You are ready to go!

Playing a video:

  1. Turn on both monitors on the media pc (right side of the booth) and move the mouse to wake it up.
  2. Log in.
  3. Use the remote to turn on the projector.
  4. To the left of the monitors on the edge of the upper counter is an audio selector switch. Switch it all the way to the right.
  5. Find your video and open it. Pause it.
  6. On the sound board, bring the main slider (far right) up to the -5 mark.
  7. The slider on the sound board for the pc is on the far left (Ch.1). Play the video and start bringing the volume slider up until it is loud enough.
  8. Move the cursor to the title bar of the video player window. Drag the window with your video up off the top edge of the left monitor.
  9. Once the video is on the projector screen, double click on the video to make it full sceen.

Streaming a video in a web browser:

  1. Turn on both monitors on the media pc (right side of the booth) and move the mouse to wake it up.
  2. Log in.
  3. Use the remote to turn on the projector.
  4. To the left of the monitors on the edge of the upper counter is an audio selector switch. Switch it all the way to the right.
  5. Double click the Chrome (Tech User) icon on the desktop to open the browser. Navigate to the video you want and start playing it.
  6. On the sound board, bring the main slider (far right) up to the -5 mark.
  7. The slider on the sound board for the pc is on the far left (Ch.1).  Bring the volume slider up until it is loud enough.
  8. Move the cursor to the title bar of the browser window. Drag the window with your video up off the top edge of the left monitor.
  9. Once the video is on the projector screen, you can make the video full sceen. You can often double click on the video to do this though sometimes you will have to click the appropriate button in the web player.

When you are done:

  1. Using the window title bar, drag the video / web player window down to the computer monitor.
  2. Turn off the projector.
  3. Close all the windows on the pc and turn off the monitors.
  4. Switch the audio selector switch all the way to the left position.
  5. Return all sound board volume sliders to the bottom.
  6. Turn off the sound board and cover it again.
  7. Turn off the power stack cooling fan and the power stack.
  8. Remove the batteries from the mic and put them back in the drawer.
  9. Put the mic away.
  10. All done!
